Using our large scale facility
The construction and operation of large scale facilities is an important task of the Federal Research Centres in Germany. These facilities are made available to scientists from universities, other research institutions and industry. Foreign research groups have equal opportunities for access to these large scale facilities.
With the beginning of 2004 GeNF offers travel support through the EU program "ACCESS to research infrastructures" to EU users from outside Germany through the Neutron and Muon Integated Initiative "nmi3".
If you are interested, please tick the corresponding box on the proposal form. Users, who are not eligible to the EU ACCESS program (e.g. German users) can apply for travel support from GeNF if they have no alternative funds.
Scientific quality and relevance of the submitted projects are the only criteria considered in allocating beam time at the large scale facilities.
The allocation of beam time is arranged by a commitee, which ensures the efficient use of beam time and can deal with new proposals at short notice. Short reports on the experiments performed at FRG-1 are collected in an Annual Experimental Report. External users are invited to process their neutron scattering data at GKSS.
Requests from industry will be dealt with in close cooperation with GKSS scientists. The costs depend on the necessary expenditure.
For the Request for beamtime as well as the Application for Admittance to the FRG-Reactor Facility you find the necessary forms under:
