Research Program „ MARCOPOLI "

The actual frame for the research at the Institute for Coastal Research is the internationally reviewed research program MARCOPOLI (Marine, Coastal and Polar Systems and Infrastructure). Until 2008 it accounts for interdisciplinary focuses in the fields of marine, coastal and polar research.

MARCOPOLI is carried out by GKSS-Research Centre and Alfred-Wegener-Institut together. The themes of the program are MAR: Marine, CO: Coast, POL: Polar und I: Infrastructure. The Institute for Coastal Research is involved in the program theme Coast.
